Overview of CDC Activities
Landmark Certified Development Corporation, formerly the La Habra Local Development Company, Inc. (LDC) was designated a 503 Certified Development Company (CDC) in October 1980. Prior to that time the LDC, which was incorporated in 1977 as one of the original Neighborhood Business Revitalization (NBR) program participants with the SBA, was operated for the purpose of processing Section 7(a) and 502 SBA loans throughout Orange County, California. At the request of the SBA, the Articles of Incorporation were amended in 1980 to permit expansion of our loan activities throughout Los Angeles County, California as well. In July 1992 the La Habra Local Development Company, Inc. was approved for participation in the "Accredited Lenders Program" and was designated an ALP/CDC lender. In November 1996 La Habra also was designated a "Priority CDC" by Central Office in Washington, D.C. This remains ongoing with ALP designation. On November 6, 2003 La Habra was granted statewide authority and changed its name to Landmark Certified Development Corporation to better describe its expanded area of operation.
The organization has an excellent relationship with many banks and other commercial lenders in Southern California. Many small business concerns (SBC's) are referred either by the banks and savings and loan branches, by the staffs of various cities or by the District Offices of the SBA. In addition, many are referred by previous loan recipients, accountants, attorneys and/or real estate brokers who have participated in prior transactions, and know of our exemplary record of SBA loan approvals. In 30 years, every loan we have determined to be eligible has been approved.
